I've pretty much decided on switching to Verizon and going with an X.

Good choice, thats the phone I plan to get in December when my contract is up!

Switched to Verizon and got the X. Looks pretty cool. The Samsung Fascinate also looked fantastic, but it's a bit smaller and has less internal storage capacity and a few other features, like Hot Spot.

If you're going to get a Droid and you're a member of Costco, get it there. They have many advantages over a Verizon retail store. Rebate is in store. Activation fee is refunded ($35). Accessory kit is included (probably worth about $60). Something else I already forgot.
