Re-rendering. Somehow the framerate got set to 15fps in the encoder. Boooh.

Chuck 05-27-2012 07:33 PM

Windy in places and touch cold, but neither too bad. A lot of fun as always. You've got to come out next time we run it.

Updated OP.

Nice thanks Ben.

Jon's Isuzu and Ron's Explorer tackle those hills like a boss.

Chuck's truck is a little :fatnana:, but gets the job done :)

Leedom 05-28-2012 10:48 AM

Ron, your new V8 seems to be working well for you.

It does. The V6 was actually fine offroad. There were only a couple times in the past with the V6 that having more power would have helped out like when I did CJ Hill out in Truckhaven. It was so steep that I had it floored and just barely was able to climb it. The biggest issue with the V6 was on the freeway fully loaded. Going up hills like the Cajon Pass fully loaded I would have to drop to 3rd and floor it just to keep the truck going 65 mph. Now it stays in 4th and pulls the hill at 70 without any problem.

blackax 05-28-2012 11:52 AM

For the record I have 120 HP and i wasn't floored. it was at 3,000 in 2nd gear, tcase in low.

My truck has just enough power for rocks and stuff but sand and highways are the downfall.
Up the pass my trucks max speed is 50 and thats in 3rd at 4,500 or so. Red line is at 5,500

94cobra69ss396 05-28-2012 11:58 AM

That's only 40 less than the 4.0 V6 that was in the Explorer had.

blackax 05-28-2012 12:06 PM

This is the lake from the first hill area.

It seems that Wrangler people have a hard time with that trail. I would rate that trail at moderate.

Chuck 05-28-2012 12:44 PM

I would rate it advanced for a full sized truck good thing for Ron I am new to off roading and would not attempt that trail with out help from some much more experienced people.

Fine for me in a stock Wtrangler with just 31" tires (open diffs and all). I had to take bypasses for what I didn't have the clearance obviously, basically took the same path Chuck took.

Vettezuki 05-28-2012 06:46 PM

Ok, OP has all videos from the day now.

94cobra69ss396 05-28-2012 09:18 PM

I rate this trail as easy for rigs like John's Isuzu and my Explorer, moderate for a stock Jeep, Toyota, etc. and moderately difficult for a full size. Chuck, we were able to get you though the entire trail without having to stack rocks or pull/push you. Those are common things on more difficult trails.

Thanks broheim.

On the second hill video around the 4 minute mark did something break on the chevy? The front wheels are all over the place.

94cobra69ss396 10-23-2012 12:00 PM

Nope, we think the TRE were just worn out. Every bump he hit the wheels would tow in horribly.

Chuck 10-23-2012 12:34 PM

They have all since been replaced.

94cobra69ss396 10-23-2012 02:18 PM
