The idea behind 1 and 5, is a black candy stripe over a black metallic stripe.

1 for me. It's balanced in my mind to the size and shape of the Skittle.

enkeivette 02-03-2013 02:40 AM

Id like to do 1, Ive always wanted to do a stripe under candy. But I kinda fancy 2, viper style.

xSpeedAddictX 02-03-2013 08:13 AM

4. Subtle.

94cobra69ss396 02-03-2013 08:52 AM

I like 1 the most and 3 would be my second choice.

enkeivette 02-03-2013 10:17 AM

Do you guys think 1 would be cooler with the center stripe alone? Or do you like it how it is?

94cobra69ss396 02-03-2013 10:41 AM

I like it how you have it.

Revision, smaller outer stripes.Attachment 779

#3 or #7

94cobra69ss396 02-03-2013 05:41 PM

I like the original you drew where it goes wider as it goes.

Concur.

enkeivette 02-03-2013 07:45 PM

The last one (lower pic) goes wider too, but noted. Im sharing this thread with my mom, but ultimately its her car, her decision. There will be pics Im sure...

Leedom 02-03-2013 09:56 PM

I would say #1, the original. I like 2 but the big stripe it too big but I really do not know how you would make it look good small. #3 would be my second choice. #4 seems a little fruit cup to me.

Vettezuki 02-03-2013 09:59 PM

Given this group has a tendency to argue just for the sake of arguing sometimes, the fact several of us are orienting around No. 1 indicates it's pretty aesthetically solid I think. Standby for Guy to come in and say 3.

enkeivette 02-03-2013 10:54 PM

Hahaha, no doubt in my mind Guy will come in and tell us we're all queer for liking 1.

2 is a take off of the newer viper stripes.

Shaolin Crane 02-04-2013 12:31 AM

I vote no stripe

So she decided to go with the 1st one, but after laying the tape down a few times she decided to go slightly narrower.

But the issue now is, the stripe is so damn fat at the top of the hood, when I follow it straight back it is fucking wide... like too wide. Suggestions? Thoughts?

More taper. I think this looks a lot better. Attachment 782

Leedom 02-10-2013 10:37 AM

I like it with more taper too. It looks like the points on the outer stripes are lined up pretty good with the edge of the license plate edge. I think that is the best way to do it. I say the inside edge of the outer stripe is lined up with the edge of the recess.

enkeivette 02-10-2013 10:41 AM

Oh, I just eyeballed this. Just to show the idea on the car. When its ready for paint itll be sanded and Ill use blue sharp edge tape and check the symmetry with a ruler.

I know on the mustangs and camaros when stripes are added the ones the hit the roof are usually wider by an inch on the outside edge to allow the eye to follow the stripes properly
