C7 ZO6 vs. GT-R Nismo

I wasn't totally surprised by the results. Are you?

The found out the z06 only lost because it had bad alignment.

When they be able to test the GT-R without a driver at all?

Link. How bad? Doubt minor is going to net two seconds. And how in the holy fuck can a new car going out for head to head not be in alignment?

Good question. It really is only a matter of time. That thing is so stable not sure it'd even be all that fun.

When I drove my buddy's 09 it was like that. Definitely fast but very unattached. The cobra and the fox were much more fun outings as there is no ABS, traction control, blah blah

The Vette has a simple LSD, that's it. The rest, including steering is manual. It's a hoot!

I have a less assisted power steering system, nearly worthless with sticky tires in tight slow speed turns, but gives great feedback.

I love the manual R&P setup I have at moderate speeds and above. Parking lots, not so much.

Because GM

It's hard to compete with 4wd. When the Evo first took down the Viper in the slalom we all learned that. Doesn't mean that the GTR is faster or that it handles better. Just means better traction. The front wheels are pulling it out of the drifts in the turns. Is that better? On paper I suppose for some. Id still rather have a C6... Yes, 6.

"Chevrolet sent MT had a rear suspension out of alignment. The publication reports the car should have been running zero degrees of rear caster, when in fact, the car was running at positive two degrees caster, making the rear dampers less effective at controlling the rear suspension.
It’s normally impossible to even adjust rear canter on a road-going vehicle, but Chevrolet incorporated this into the Z06 to be better aligned for track duty. Somehow, it became out of whack.
With the problem fixed, it was off to Spring Mountain Motor Resort in Nevada to see what the Z06 could really do. Previously, the Z06 clocked a 1:27.10 with the jumbled rear suspension. This time, it did 2.1-seconds better, checking in at 1:25.00 even, a very notable improvement, and seven tenths of a second faster than the Nismo."
