Just to let yall know what the hold up is...
Turns out I bent my rocker studs at some point, maybe when I stepped on the gas and the boost guage went to 9 psi. :sm_laughing: Strange because I was running stud girdles...
And I'm dealing with rocker tip alignment with the new 1.65ers. Going to get the new studs first, then try some lash caps to offset the difference. Funny thing is, with a 1.65 ratio the pushrod should be at more of an angle, and therefore I should have had a problem with them being too short, but they are too long. So it must be just the design difference between ProComp and Harland Sharp. Because theoretically the 1.5 Harland Sharps should make the problem even worse. Here are some pics for your enjoyment :D No Lift Max Lift |
I always enjoy a good picture show.

Comp lash caps and ARP studs should be arriving tomorrow! Does anyone know the torque on those things off hand? Think it was 55 ft lbs. Always scary torquing into aluminum.

You better check with the manufacturer home slice. |

3/8 is generally 35 flbs. But, do as Zuki says and talk to manufacture- never hurts. I did my studs at 45 flbs with sealer. :sm_up_there: |
Called, it's 50 ft lbs.

Yeah, it's easy to hit the edit button accidentally.
Fart... SNIFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
So I installed lash caps to compensate for my pushrods that were too long, the roller tip movement on the valve stem isn't perfect but it looks good enough to run. What do you guys think?
No Lift Max Lift I also moved my guide plates and replaced my bent studs, side to side is way better now. |
Looks much better. Still not perfect, but getting there.
