What's my Vette worth?

Just curious. The market is awfully soft, but my Vette is fairly unique.

Here's all the pertinent details.

Don't sell unless yo absolutely need to. There isn't much available capital going around so its hard to get fair deal if you are selling.

:iagree:

Fortunately I'm not in a desperate situation. I'm pretty sure no one would offer what I'd entertain . . . but you never know. I just wonder if my expectations are similar to others.

On the whole though, this is a fantastic toy buyers market for those who have play cash, especially for modified cars. Lots of them going for like what the parts cost of the modifications would be, never mind the underlying car or labor.

Same as anything else...

Whatever you can get someone to pay you for it.

figure whatever its market value is and a 30% mark up for the mods seems normal

It's a funny market. Super clean versions of bone stock 82's are remarkably still around $14k. Mine will go like a C5Z or a bit better in a straight line, and realtively speaking handles pretty well too.(See mod list and I think I'm forgetting some things.) However, it's not that clean would need some paint and interior work to make nice.

i looked, similar condition 82's were about 8-9k, so figure 14k-16k would be about right, and for that kind of money i'd keep it

I wouldn't even think about it until $20k and that is remarkably unlikely.

Sadly im in the same boat, i have around 20-25k into just the chassis, and i'd be lucky to get 6-10k. However, when i built my car i was investing in a dream of mine and not a financial outlook, i like laying back at night and knowing i own my true dream car

When I had the Camaro for sale, 15k invested, my add was for $8500 , obo. I listed every detail and retail prices of all parts. The parts, at my wholesale cost, where over $8K . I would have taken $6500, but never even got offered that much.
