Thinking of swapping for this

I could get it for $1500. What say you? I would still title and insure it for the street, possibly do a new wrap for it. But would you scrap my current body for it?

I'd like to do another build but i'm not sure i'd be able to swing it.

Probably not. I'd just finish the Fox you have and use it on the street and track. If you want a full legit race car down the road, then do that. JMO.

I havnt truly driven my car on the street in nearly 2 years. The new motor wont be very street friendly either, and being i have the g-force going in as well, that's not going to help streetability. I suppose i could swap stockish suspension onto it then take all the good stuff and put it on the race body.

What do you want to do exactly? The older I get the more I think it's silly (personal opinion) to build things like a race car for street at all. There is an art in making a real GT that's genuinely sporty without be punishing. Beyond this, just make a damn race car for off road use only. JMO.

I dont want to limit what classes i can run in, the class i built my car for requires interior and tags. I wouldnt plan on driving the car much on the street, maybe a couple cruises and a car show or two. The car now is punishing, loud, uncomfortable, generally not pleasing to drive in a situation other then racing. So i figure why not make it official, maximize the effectiveness of everything and push the parts the way they were intended. Would you really want to drive a .90 final ratio trans on the freeway?

It's not like i dont have a street car, the 07 is stock and the 88 will be a comfortable performer.

I'm just sorta increasingly of the mind of compartmentalization. Street car is a street car. Race car is a race car. But I get what you're saying. Does the money stuff really work out?

Do it! If I had an extra $1500 I'd do it.

The 87 just looks like a street car, it really is a race car.

The money stuff wouldnt put me too far behind, the car was set up for the same suspension i have now. I could have everything swapped over in a weekend. I would need new rims and tires, which isnt a big deal. I could run a 17x10 up front and a 17x11 out back. 335 in the front and who knows how big i could go in the rear. And i'm ok with that. :) everything else would be a straight swap. I would just lose the sexyness of the gunmetal.
