Default Cadillac ELR

Forget that 911, this is easily the coolest news of the day. The Cadillac Converj concept is going into production as an Extended Range electric vehicle they're calling the Cadillac ELR.

The ELR will use a T-shaped lithium ion battery, an electric motor and a four-cylinder gasoline engine/generator for power and will have a two + two seating layout. That should make you think of another range-extended electric vehicle (or plug-in hybrid, whichever) vehicle that lives in the GM fleet. Yep, this Cadillac will be the first of (probably) many vehicles to adapt the Voltec powertrain. Though we expect few will do it with this much style.

"There's no mistaking it for anything but a Cadillac, an aggressive, forward-leaning profile and proportion showcases a uniquely shaped, modern vision of a personal luxury 2+2." Said GM's Ed Welburn.

There are no details on price, performance specs or release date. The car is currently in development and that's all we've got.
I loved the Converj concept. Really an awesome looking Caddy:
