For it to be legal, you have to have an external shut off switch that will kill the engine in case of a crash. I have the taylor one too, just have to make sure the charge line goes to the "out" portion of the shutoff switch, also putting a breaker inline on the charge line is a very good idea. I got one from graingers thats 150a and resettable for $30
