Default Went to see the Real Bodies display in LA today.

The wife and I went to the see the real bodies display at the science center in Exposition Park today. Pretty cool stuff - it's hard sometimes to realize what you're seeing are the remains of real people. It's kind of pricey, but I highly recommend it to everyone - it was really fascinating

I went to see it last year in Vegas at the Tropicana...it was pretty crazy. Although it was really cool to see how we're put together, I agree that it was weird thinking that you're standing in front of what used to be somebody's skin/muscle tissue/whatever else. The smell got to me a bit too...I didn't feel sick or anything, but it just added to the overall uneasy feeling.

I didn't notice a smell at all, maybe it's because it's so hot in Vegas? The bodies are strange, it's just hard to wrap your head around the fact they're real. The plastered on nipples for everything was weird too....

I had forgotten about the nipples (shame, huh?), but that reminds me of the really creepy eyes and eyelids on those things.

What is this and where? I'm interested. Will it be around next weekend when I'm home?

It's at the Science Center in Exposition park in Los Angeles. It's a little pricey, but I would say well worth it.

How would you know silly? You didn't pay :P

Here is the link and I suggest making a reservation/ticket purchase before going. I think we found the earlier might have been a little better as it got crowded as the day went on. We missed the IMAX show due to the darn Dodger fans crowding down town for their collusium game so if you don't really want to see the IMAX you probably aren't missing much (but we wouldn't know).

Here is the link for ticket sales:

When we were trying to purchase tickets online we were having an issue and had to purchase them over the phone. Keep that in mind when ordering.

Let me know if you have any more questions....

PS - Price is 16.95 with a valid student ID and 18.95 without.

Thanks mom.

I'll probably go check that out this weekend with Christina. Looks like fun.

That's actually not a bad price compared to Vegas...I think it was $30 when I went. IMO, that's still worth it as it's not something you get to see too often.

Yes I have to agree with Keith. I'm actually very glad that we got to see it here in LA b/c the price was much less. Good ol Vegas...tourism price inflation only b/c they can. Grr...
