Trailer Questions
Recently I bought a little tractor. It weighs about 2,000lbs.
I know one place, recommended by the guy I bought the tractor from, where I can get a new 12ft trailer on a 3,500lbs axle, for just over $1,600 by the time all is said and done.
I don't want to spend more than this, but have a couple questions.
The above trailer is on a 3,500lbs axle and weighs about 1,000lbs. That means it will reasonably carry up to about 2,500lbs right? My Vette is almost exactly 3,100lbs full wet, so that's probably not a good idea right? Not that I have any intention to trailer my Vette, but it could come in handy for some future projects.
The above seems to be a reasonable market price for that kind of trailer. But are there any other good sources for these kind of simple flatbed utility trailers I should check? I'm a little sketchy on used trailers from CL, mostly because the tires could be crap, and poof, you're not really saving anything when you throw in having to get tires in the near future, plus the hassle.

Spend the extra $300 and get the double axle trailer with the diamond plate deck. It is what I use and came from that same place.

Roger. But it's like $600. $1,399 vs. $1,999 AIR.

Yeah, cheapest dual axles are $1,999 unless you're seeing something else. Since I can just use AAA on the rare occasion I need to move a car, probably just go with the basic utility trailer, which is entirely sufficient for the tractor.
For reference, here's the basic dual axle.

You will quickly see the purpose of having a more sufficient trailer. like moving cars, equipment, yada yada. You will quickly see the limits of that trailer.

This was kinda my first thought, if I were hauling a small tractor, I would think about a small trailer with sides and maybe even some dump capabilities, the things a tractor involves will probably involve moving some kind of bulk material as well.

Piles of shit blew up in my face, like water damage to house, need for dental implants for my wife, poof $10k. And other stuff . .
Sooo, went with the small trailer. It's minimal for the task, but after learning how to best load it, it is adequate. It's also big enough for the Snake and small cars. But that's it.
