If you have an unlimited data package on your cell phone provider and you run an android device, download foxfi (if you are not rooted). I have Verizon wireless and I can play games on my laptop online with my phone as the hotspot.

Have you thought about hughesnet? It's 50$ a month at about 10 mbps, caped at 10 GB* (you get a extra 10 gb from the hours between 2 am an 8 am) From what i hear the cap isn't that bad.

Not really. I thought it goes dark pretty easily in weather like rain, which we don't have much of so that's not such a big deal. That's pretty comparable to my Uverse overall. And most of my internet time at home is not so heavy data traffic . . . but I don't like waiting. 10GB might be ok. The AT&T DSL is 6Mbps for $34.

Satellite dish TV is almost unaffected in rain... Though in my condo the gutter started to come off the roof directly above the dish and all the water happened to start pouring right on the dish, from the WHOLE roof... Kinda messed up the signal

Nah. It was raining here pretty much all last week and DirecTV was worthless.

Really? Dish network was always awesome. I got FiOS with my new house but I'm going back to dish at the end of the month.

Yeah, DirecTV no worky so well in the rain. Not a huge deal, but sub-optimal.
