I haven't run it on the 1/4 on the current setup. It ran, bone stock with a mild tune, 13.8 at like 107mph if I remember correctly, in Tucson, AZ last year when I was out there for work. The way I have it set up it should run easily into the mid 12s with a competent driver... IF and that's a big IF you can hold traction. It should cross the traps at like 115+ since most of the speed comes after the 1/8 mile for me (after I get traction).
There are 2 limiting factors in a Cobalt SS when searching for traction. #1 the wheel size factor which will not allow true slicks #2 its FWD so the weight transfer off the line is pretty poor.
Hence, the cobalt is a beast on a road course. I believe the guy you are referring to is named David. He wrecked his balt at Fontana last year if memory serves. He would rip up Fontana from what I understand. His was silver with green brake calipers I believe.
