Don't know if I'll be making it out to this cruise, well, at least not in the C32. Got hit a week ago from today, car is in the shop.



I may come out in my Slowbaru wagon though. And +1 on the parking lot behind TJ Maxx - it was extremely empty last time we met there, perfect meeting spot.

Updated OP with new start address and bumped the midpoint to whatever that section is called right near the top where the 39 would theoretically intersect. There's plenty of space there and long views on both sides of the mountain.

That's called "Islip Saddle" and there is indeed a large parking lot on the north side and a wide turn out on the south side however the place we all stopped before was Snowcrest ski area. Islip Saddle is nice but there is NO SHADE on that bit of the roadway, there are restrooms and tables however.

Just some info, if you feel the need to buy an Adventure Pass, don't bother as they are NOT required for our group since we are just 'passing through' and are not 'recreating' in the forest. We are entitled to stop and take photographs, use the facilities and such as long as we don't all park and wander off into the mountains.

Adventure Passes and their citations are a huge scam anyway but that is another thread for another time.
