Check the fine print on that deal. They have the right to cancel or modify the promotion at any time.
That means, if sometime in the next 3 years Chrysler decides it's getting too expensive, the promotion is cut off and you lost your 2.99 gas.
I would bet that gas is going to be $5 per gallon sometime within the next year. That makes it $1 more expensive for Chrysler to cover the difference.
Also, in tough economic times, they could go bankrupt and no one will pay the difference for you anymore.
Remember all those people stuck with worthless airline tickets? They were ready for their vacation to or from Hawaii, but stuck at the airport with worthless travel documents. That's because they bought tickets on an airline that eventually went bankrupt. They had no recourse.
